Leonardville is a proclaimed village in Aminuis Constituency, some 133 km from the regional capital, Gobabis. It is governed by a Village Council that has five seats and has an office here. Three of these seats belong to the ruling SWAPO Party while the Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) and the National Unity Democratic Organisation (NUDO) each has one seat.
The village has one primary school and one secondary school. There is a clinic, a police station and a post office (Nampost). Beside a state-owned Leonardville Fish Farm, Government offices at the village include the Ministry of Works and Transport and a State Veterinary office.
Possible areas of investment at the village include skills development, livestock farming, prosopis furniture and charcoal production.
Employment and major source of income for residents are livestock farming, wages and salaries and small businesses.
