REGIONAL COUNCILLOR FOR GOBABIS CONSTITUENCY SWORN IN REGIONAL COUNCILLOR FOR GOBABIS CONSTITUENCY SWORN IN

Newly-elected Regional Councillor for Gobabis Constituency, Honourable Augustinus Tebele has been sworn in as a member of the Omaheke Regional Council on Friday, 24 January 2020.

Honourable Tebele, who was elected on 15 January 2020, replaces Phillipus Katamelo who resigned as a member of the Regional Council and the National Council on 17 October last year in order to contest during the National Assembly elections held on 27 November last year.

Honourable Tebele was also elected as a member of the Council’s Management Committee. He replaces Honourable Erwin Katjizeu, Regional Councillor for Otjinene Constituency, who was, during the same occasion, elected to represent the Omaheke region in the National Council.

Gobabis Magistrate Eden Iyambo administered Honourable Tebele’s oath and presided over the two elections which were held during an extraordinary Council meeting.
